Publisher：Yuan-Liou Publishing Co., Ltd.
I devote my most wonderful years in life unreservedly to the wilderness, black bears, Indigenous peoples and loneliness. Now I can die without regret.
------- Mei-Xiu Huang
A young woman determined to challenge a mission impossible alone.
In addition to stand bee stings, terrible landslides, broken bridges and Typhoons, there are big black bears raiding the camp. What are all these for?
The author has devoted herself to the research of Taiwan Black Bears since 1996 by entering high mountains and moving from place to place by following and tracking black bears. This book is based on her journal on field research. In addition to have this opportunity to know the habits of black bear, a researcher’s methodology and the culture of Taiwan Indigenous Peoples, we can also learn from her journal how a young woman sticks to her ideal and embraces her wildest dreams. Mei-Xiu hopes from her heart that after having correct knowledge on Taiwan black bears, people’s unknown fear can be replaced with respect and kindness, and there are no more selfish and greedy eating and hunting.
