- Nearly 50 producers from Hong Kong and China took part in the 2012 Book Meets Film Forum, including Fox International Productions (The Butcher, the Chef and the Swordsman), Irresistible Films under Edko Film Ltd. (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Emperor Entertainment Group (Let the Bullets Fly), Film Workshop, Bona Film Group Distribution Workshop, and Tomson International Entertainment Distribution. There were also Taiwanese producers and film distributors such as Central Motion Picture Corporation, Zoom Hunt International Productions, Atom Cinema, Joint Entertainment International, Flash Forward Entertainment and Ocean Deep Films, as well as TV channels and broadcasting companies, such as Public Television Service Foundation, Sanlih E-Television, Da Ai Television and Hakka Television Station that produce drama series.
- During the forum, more than 100 one-on-one meetings were organized between production companies and over 10 publishers of 16 recommended titles. Five of the publishers are now negotiating contracts with producers.
- Producers from Hong Kong and the US are pursuing a contract with Aquarious Publishing for the novel Last_year@alu.bar, set in a cultural-free, virtual city. Jimmy Liao’s graphic novel, The Rainbow of Time, also enjoys the advantage of crossing the language barrier, and is well-received among producers. Since the 2012 TIBE, a film producer has been working with the author on a screenplay of the historical mystery The Night Revels of Han Xizai. The Wandering Family, which deals with an unusual topic, has attracted Taiwanese and Japanese directors, who show interest in making it into a documentary. The 2012 forum was where the author Monica met representatives from Double Edge Entertainment. The company has signed a contract for another of her works, The Conspirator, with her and co-author Shaballe.
